In 2014, Israel invaded the Gaza in an operation called Operation Protective Edge. A year and a half later, this operation is still the topic of widespread debate in the international community. This session will shed light on some aspects of the operation, through testimonies of soldiers who served there.


Avner Gvaryahu

Avner Gvaryahu was born in the Israeli city of Rehovot. During his army service, he served in the special forces battalion of the Paratroopers Brigade, where he attained the rank of staff sergeant. A year after he was discharged, Avner joined Breaking the Silence as a researcher and tour guide with a focus on working with world Jewry.
