For a Jewish Democratic State of Israel: End the Occupation

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Most Zionist and other pro-Israel American Jews who oppose the Occupation rely primarily upon human rights rhetoric in communicating with the pro-Israel leaders and activists who hold more "mainstream" beliefs. This overwhelming human rights emphasis is not only ineffective, but it also creates distance with like-minded Israelis, such as voters for Avodah and Meretz. Instead, the US-based pro-Israel left needs to also emphasize Israel's security needs and the dangers of the Occupation to Israel's economy, security, and international standing. All views welcome, but please do not come unless you have sympathies for at least one of the following: the settler movement, Peace Now, AIPAC, Ameinu, J Street, JVP, Breaking the Silence, Friends of the IDF, Likud, Avodah, Ha'aretz, Jerusalem Post, B'nai Brak, Yerucham, the Swamp, or North Tel Aviv.
